The Meaning Behind Chrysalis Families
We all start out as caterpillars. When we become a disciple of the Lord, we inherit the DNA of a butterfly. If we are willing, we will fill up on solid food and enter the chrysalis. For a time, we are nothing more than a mushy sac. The Lord our God, gently breaks us and gives us a new identity, His identity. With His Holy Hand, He puts us together tiny bit by tiny bit. Sometimes it seems as though the process of filling up and entering in the chrysalis will never end. In some ways, it won’t. But we do emerge a new creation.
We are now of those who bravely and humbly entered the chrysalis, submitting ourselves to the Lordship and discipleship of Jesus Christ. And we are a family.
We are made in His image to share, for our fleeting moments, His endless beauty, majesty, wonder, and glory. I want to share my journey with you and I hope you will share yours with me. Let us bring Him all our praise and worship, and let’s do it together.
Hello! My name is Vicki. I am a born again, Holy Spirit filled, disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have been with my husband (the love of my life, second only to Jesus) since 2002 and we have two amazing boys whom we homeschool. I have a passion to share the word of God, especially to women and children. I love seeing women live without condemnation and excel in Biblical Womanhood. Teaching Bible studies and Biblical research skills is a joy to me. I also enjoy decorating my home frugally, cooking, healthy living, all kinds of crafts, and tea parties. I would like the privilege of getting to know you too. Feel free to leave me a note in the comment area!
Statement Of Faith
We believe in the one true God in heaven who manifests Himself as The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. (Exodus 20:3; Deuteronomy 5:7; Deuteronomy 6:14; 2 Kings 17:35; Mark 12:32; John 8:41; Hebrews 1:8; John 20:28)
We believe the whole Bible is the infallible, inspired Word of God. This Word was given to us for spiritual growth, instruction, reproof and correction. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; John 17:17; Jer 1:9, 31:2; 2 Sam 23:2; Jer 30:2; John 14:24; 1 Cor. 14:37; 1 Thess. 2:13)
We believe in claiming all the promises held in God’s Word, all of which are only attainable by faith through the gift of grace made available to us by the works of Jesus Christ and not by the works of man. (2 Timothy 1:9; Acts 2:38-39; Galatians 3:14; Galatians 3:22; Galatians 3:29; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; Ephesians 1:13; Hebrews 9:15; 2 Peter 1:4)
Having been born of the virgin Mary, conceived of the Holy Spirit and having lived a blameless life, Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we may have eternal salvation. (Luke 1:35; Hebrews 4:14-15; Hebrews 9:28; Romans 6:4)
We believe in salvation for those who are truly repentant, believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and was raised from the dead and who seek daily to follow the Lord. (John 3:15; John 6:47-58; Romans 6:23; 1 John 5:13; Acts 4:10; Acts 13:30)
We believe that Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. ( Matthew 26:64; Acts 2:33; Acts 7:55; Hebrews 12:2 ; Acts 1:2,10-11; Mark 16:19; Luke 24:50-51)
We believe that when Christ returns, the dead in Christ will arise. We believe that God’s children will be raised up and brought together to enjoy the fruits of everlasting life. (1 Corinthians 15:20-26; Hebrews 9:28; John 10:27-29; Romans 6:4)
We believe that the Lord sent a comforter, the Holy Spirit, to dwell within us and instruct us.(John 14:16; John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:7)
We believe there are to be no divisions among God’s children according to scripture. This is not through compromise but by humble seeking of Biblical truth. (1 Corinthians 1:10)
We take the Word of God over the word of man. We hold the Scriptures as the written authority pertaining to all things including the New Covenant, lifestyles, doctrines, faith, behavior and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 6:24, Luke 4:4)
We believe in nurturing people by filling them with God’s Word. We understand that adults and children alike need nurturing and fellowship. We believe that it is important to have a welcoming place where we can talk about our faith and how life and world events effect and influence our walk by drawing us closer to God and His Holy Word.
