Accepting Forgiveness

Ecclesiastes 7:20
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

We are only human. No matter how hard we try, there will just be times that we will break fellowship with God. And He knows that. Aside from Christ, no one has been able to live a perfectly sinless life.
That is why Christ’s life and death were so important.

In the Garden of Eden we had lost our perfect bond with God. Christ bought us back. Christ’s life and death were payment for our sins. He made it possible for us to have a wonderful bond with our Heavenly Father. Christ in us would not be possible without Jesus. Could you imagine what life without that small, still voice might be like?

Fortunately we don’t have to.

I know from personal experience it is easier said then done, but beating yourself up over every little break of fellowship only keeps us from God longer. We need to realize what we did, be truly remorseful and **accept His forgiveness**. Then He can work on healing our lives so that we do not fall prey to the same sin.

God gives us His forgiveness freely. But we must take it or we become stagnant, unable to advance and move beyond. If God doesn’t condemn us, why should we hold onto condemnation?
